My Home Office and Hardware Setup

Or in blogger speak, “The 10 Tools I Used to Build a 6-Figure Business.”

I’ve been getting a few questions about my current home office set up, so I thought I’d put together a quick post about it here.

While I’m blessed to be able to work from anywhere, I find I’m most productive at home. I’ve been working from home full-time for more than 8 years, so there’s definitely some comfort there.

How We Make $10-15k a Month from Blogging in Less Than a Year

Today’s contribution comes from Grace Moser, who, together with her husband Silas, took action on one Side Hustle Show episode in a big way.

In this post, she shares their incredible results and best-practices from starting a blog from scratch in late 2015, and turning it into a 5-figure a month income stream today! Wow!

The Easy Way to Get 24.3% More Traffic Using Google Search Console

Last summer when I interviewed Neil Patel, one of the traffic hacks he recommended during the podcast was to make strategic updates to your existing content based on data from Google Search Console.

Several months later, I finally decided to give it a shot.

In this post, I’ll show you how it works, how you can do the same for your website, and my results so you can judge if it’s worth your time.

How I Built a Million Dollar Blog (by Growing a Loyal Audience)

No — Side Hustle Nation hasn’t quite hit the $1 million mark yet.

That honor is reserved for true blogging elite, and in that spirit I’m excited to introduce Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, the founder of Making Sense of Cents.

On her blog, Michelle helps readers learn how to make extra money, save money, and reach their dream life. She currently earns $100,000 a month (wowzas!!) through her blog and affiliate marketing course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.

How to Start a Side Hustle Blog [Free 6-Part Video Course]

So, you want to start a blog?

I don’t blame you! After all, it’s a great way to make money online and potentially begin to earn some of that elusive passive income.

And the good news is, it’s really not that hard (or expensive) to get started. In fact, you can be up and running in less than 15 minutes and for less than $3 a month.

A Letter to My Son

Hey bud,

If you’re reading this, congratulations. You survived your first year on this planet.

A first birthday is cause for celebration — even if you won’t remember it. We’ve had a crazy year, huh little guy?

2016 Annual Review and Q4 Progress Report: What Was Awesome, What Sucked, and What’s Next

As we move into 2017, on the surface, things are great. I had my best year financially since 2009, we managed to keep our little hustler alive 11 months in a row, and we went on quite a few cool adventures as a family.

Yet I’ve got some weird anxiety. Like I’m working every week, but maybe not on the right things. Like I could and should be taking on more or different projects. Like I’m letting people down who email me. Like I’m in maintenance mode and not growth mode — even though things are growing.

My 10 Best Performing Email Subject Lines of the Year (and 3 that flopped)

Thursday is Podcast Day, or as my wife calls it, “The Day Nick Spends at Least an Hour Trying to Send Out an Email.”

I’m constantly trying to improve my email deliverability, engagement, and open rates, so I wanted to take this opportunity to look back through some of the data and see which of my subject lines from this year performed the best.

3 Productized Service Business Ideas You Can Start Today

Productized service businesses are all the rage these days. They involve packing up a service traditionally sold on a freelance or hourly basis, and instead selling it at a fixed price or on a monthly retainer contract.

Examples include Dan Norris’ WP Curve, which offers unlimited WordPress support for $79 a month, or Russ Perry’s Design Pickle, which offers unlimited graphic design tasks for $370 a month.

These services are popping up in a ton of different niches, and for good reason. They have low startup costs, low overhead, and a simple to understand proposition for customers.

Here’s Everything I Did To Launch a Bestselling Book (and How Much It’s Made So Far)

Last month I launched my latest book project, Buy Buttons, out into the world. On Day 1, it became an Amazon bestseller and has gone on to collect 75+ 5-star reviews and sell more than 2600 copies.

My process was much more involved this time around than it was two years ago for the launch of Work Smarter. A lot has changed during that time so I was excited to put some new ideas to the test.

In this post, I’ll break down the entire writing and launch process, step-by-step, start to finish.
